MINDY GILBERT: EMAIL 4/12/10
HSUS annual reports, financial statements, and accomplishments are available online: here.
For 4 out of the last 5 consecutive years, The Humane Society of the United States has been rated a 4-star charity—the highest rating—from Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator.
Ken Berger, president and CEO of Charity Navigator has said: "Only 7 percent of all the charities we rate have received at least 4 consecutive four-star evaluations, indicating that The Humane Society of the United States consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America."
This year, we received a 3-star rating, which Charity Navigator defines as "Good - Exceeds or meets industry standards and performs as well as or better than most charities in its Cause." link
You can look up our 3-star rating right at http://www.CharityNavigator.org
We're working hard to once again be one of the small percentage of charities that receive Charity Navigator's 4-star rating, but I'm as proud of the 3-star silver medal that we currently have as the 4-star gold medals that we have had for 4 out of the last 5 years.
“Worth” magazine also recently named The HSUS as one of ten charities nationwide in their “Elite List: 10 Most Fiscally Responsible Charities” survey. link
The ridiculous accusations are part of an on-going smear campaign by an industry-funded group ran by corporate PR spin doctors called the Center for Consumer Freedom.
The Center for Consumer Freedom is a corporate front group for factory farming, agribusiness, tobacco, and alcohol business interests that was started with a $600,000 grant from tobacco giant Phillip Morris. For more independent info about the CCF, visit http://www.bermanexposed.org or link
